Month: November 2007

Hello London

Well, I’m finally here! It’s my 2nd month in London and it has been quite an experience so far.
My arrival at Heathrow airport was not as smooth as I thought it would be as I had to go through a medical check as I did not do it before I left India. So I had to spend a jolly good 2 Hrs at the airport.
I lived with my friends at Kingsbury and it was real fun but I had to move out as it was really far from my school. Now I live with a family in West Ealing as a tenant and it’s really nice. There is a British English man with his Chinese wife and their 10 years old son Anthony. I get along with him very well as we both have the same interest and that is Computer games 😛
My school is fantastic it’s huge and there are many nice people around There is so much to do in London if you have an art background, I mean I have been to 3 photography Exhibitions, 2 art Exhibitions, have been attending the London Film festival and soon will be attending a video installation art (I am really excited about that)
The street is crowded with double-deckers, taxis, tours, motorcycles, and people. Public transportation is widespread and makes it extremely easy to get around town w/o a car.
I’m slowly settling in. The concept of “Study Abroad” suddenly became a reality. I’m not just in London for a visit, but here for two years. That realization, often called culture shock, was a little bit frightening at first but I am becoming more comfortable with it.

it’s not really as small as it looks in this pic as I have more stuff behind like TV, dinner table with chair, and bookshelf 🙂
