Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church, Berlin

One of the places that made a great impression on me during my 1st trip to Berlin was Interior of the modern chapel at Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church.
During the Allied air-raids on Berlin on the night of 23rd November 1943, the old Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in the city centre was destroyed. The design for a replacement church by the architect Prof. Egon Eiermann surrounded the ruins of the old church tower with a new tower and a separate contemporary place of worship. the new church is made of concrete, steel and glass. The construction uses a double shell to give acoustic isolation from the busy traffic outside.

One of the most striking features is the extensive use of stained glass inspired by Chartres Cathedral and created by the French artist Gabriel Loire in Chartres. The new church and tower use 21,292 panes of stained glass. The Christ is suspended above the altar against the background of stained glass. The figure is the work of Munich sculptor Karl Hemmeter, and was created after the original more contemporary design by the church’s architect was rejected.

Sadly the new tower was under construction, so I didn’t get to see it from inside, but I am planning to visit soon in few months as Berlin has made a fantastic impression on me.

A beautiful vintage AirBnb home experience in Florence Italy

Every time I travel I do try and find beautiful and unique homes to live in because I love the extra dimension it adds to your travel experience.

While Airbnb has come to be known as the low-key, economical way to travel, it also boasts some seriously incredible, one-of-a-kind accommodations.

This beautifully appointed apartment in the middle of historical Florence just a next to The Central market (a great place to eat is upstairs there) also the Duomo and many sights.

I used it for three night during my stay last week while I was attending River to River Florence Film festival.

The apartment is in a palace which dates to the 1500s and has terracotta floors and ancient oak-beamed ceilings.

The whole place was very eclectic (bordering on the quirky) decoration, which I loved.
Just minus the two mannequins dressed and made to stand just next to the bed, it kept creeping me out as I was staying there alone and I kept feeling they kept watching me.

In daytime the bedroom had natural light through it’s two huge windows, I went in winter, so it used to get dark very early, but I would love to go back to the same house again in summer.
Same goes for the Florence itself, I am sure I would love it even more in summer as it tends to get very hot in Tuscany.

Amsterdam 2017 Travel Vlog | GoPro 4K

Our first attempt at unplanned travel vlog. Shot on GoPro, 5D and iPhone.

Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths. No! I want to live

For one beautiful night I knew what it was like to be a grandmother. Subjugated, yet honored. We’re rescuing ya. You’re going to do his laundry? I had more, but you go ahead. I’m just glad my fat, ugly mama isn’t alive to see this day. I guess if you want children beaten, you have to do it yourself. Soothe us with sweet lies. You know the worst thing about being a slave? They make you work, but they don’t pay you or let you go. Say what?

Tell her she looks thin

Enough about your promiscuous mother, Hermes! We have bigger problems. Stop! Don’t shoot fire stick in space canoe! Cause explosive decompression! File not found. Please, Don-Bot… look into your hard drive, and open your mercy file!

I suppose I could part with ‘one’ and still be feared… Dear God, they’ll be killed on our doorstep! And there’s no trash pickup until January 3rd. I usually try to keep my sadness pent up inside where it can fester quietly as a mental illness. No argument here. My fellow Earthicans, as I have explained in my book ‘Earth in the Balance”, and the much more popular ”Harry Potter and the Balance of Earth’, we need to defend our planet against pollution. Also dark wizards.
