It’s finally 11.11.20

It’s finally 11.11 .20, and time for my yearly birthday blog.
The day I have always celebrated throughout my life as I do love life, and I feel like it needs to be appreciated and celebrated.

But, this year things have been a bit different, not just for me but for all of us.
For me, the last couple of months has been extremely hard, but I have slowly started focusing on my self, and I have realized that I can’t blame myself for others insecurities and self-regard, I am a kind and positive individual, and I have to keep focusing on that.

One thing in the last couple of months has also made me realize that people around me are fucking amazing and I do feel such a privilege to have a close circle of friends and family around me, who really care about my well being.

Hariman, Melani, and my mom who has been there every day,
Thank you so much for all the love and care.
I wish everyone has people like them in their life.

2021 is going to be a great year, I sense it and not just for me but for a lot of people, I mean we just got rid of that C* Trump, so I am hoping that this can be a catalyst for social change.

I am also sharing with you my brand new prized possession ‘The Bearbrick Medicom’ Shining version and the new fern that’s been growing so fast and giving me the Jurassic vibes.

Thank you, everyone, for wonderful wishes and showing kindness, and making my day special.

Lots of Love
Parag

Happy Birthday Mom

To the fabulous woman who gave me the gift of life, I truly hope that your special day is filled with happy moments.

I’m so sorry we all can’t be with you to celebrate in person thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, but always know we all are with you in spirit. Shilpa and i managed to make this artwork for you, and I hope you like it.

Thank you for being my biggest supporter and for being such a wonderful mother. I hope that one day I will be able to show my children the kind of love that you have shown me.
I love you, mom!
And Happy Birthday.

A letter to our community: COVID-19

Dear clients and friends,

We have been shooting our 4th feature film in Scotland and thankfully we finished just before coronavirus pandemic became a real threat in Edinburgh.

The shoot was great fun and we would love to thank everyone at ‘Film Edinburgh’ for all their support @thisisedinburgh

We were also supposed to start filming our next big-budget feature film in May in and around Edinburgh but for now, we have put all our film and commercial shoots on hold.

The Coronavirus pandemic is clearly a fast-changing and evolving situation and our top priority remains the health, wellness, and safety of our staff and the many amazing freelancers we work with.

Fortunately at Square Elephant Productions, we have preexisting and reliable cloud-based infrastructures that allow for a seamless transition to working from home.

But our office remains open and operational, supported by staff working remotely.

I want to ask all of us, during this tough time, to remember all of the fantastic people who are part of this industry including the freelancers, artists and online communities we collaborate with.

The biggest impact of this pandemic will be felt by the self-employed people in the UK as they account for over 15% of the workforce and we know that so many people across the creative arts face a worrying and uncertain time until this has passed.

The film, television and advertising industry employs thousands of people as editors, graphics and motion designers, camera assistants, light assistants, production assistants and set workers who are paid on a daily basis.

And we hope that the UK government creates an Income Protection Fund to support self-employed people through the coming months.

Please think of our freelance community and sign this:
Include self-employed in statutory sick pay during Coronavirus

During these tough times, please stay strong, take care of yourself and your loved ones. We can overcome this.

Klaus deserved the Animated Film of the year at Oscar 2020

Toy Story 4 getting the oscar over Klaus has got me all rattled up.
Toy Story 4 wasn’t even that great and probably the worst in the series.
Whereas Klaus was a fantastic film and showed the innovation of animation. They literally made hand-drawn 2D animation to look like 3D.
I also feel the technical achievements that Klaus did for 2D animation by an independent studio should have been appreciated by the Oscars.

Ok, I am done with my rant for today, I am happy for the Parasite and 1917, two of my favourite films of the year.

Oscar wins in 2020:
4 – Parasite
3 – 1917
2 – Joker
2 – Ford v Ferrari
2 – Once Upon a Time
1 – Learning to Skateboard
1 – Neighbor’s Window
1 – Little Women
1 – Jojo Rabbit
1 – Hair Love
1 – Bombshell
1 – Toy Story 4
1 – Marriage Story
1 – American Factory
